Kōhī Coffee
Kōhī started as a creative brief challenge to explore how Japanese culture and ritual could shape a bold, modern coffee brand. The challenge was to draw from Japanese references without falling back on the visual clichés often associated with them.
I built the concept around the slow, deliberate process of making and drinking coffee, treating it as a modern-day ritual rather than something rushed. That idea carried into the illustrations, turning the simple act of drinking coffee into something expressive and almost ceremonial.
My role covered the concept, creative direction and full visual identity. I developed the logo system, typography, colour palette and custom illustrations, using strong type and minimal layouts to balance the more detailed artwork.
The goal was to create a coffee brand that felt distinctly Japanese in its influence, but still contemporary, bold and relevant.

ERND approached Outlier with two logo concepts created by an external supplier and struggled to apply them consistently.
Our goal was to clarify the brand’s strategy and build a scalable system that could support long-term growth. We identified the strongest logo direction, refined and customised it into a fully responsive suite. We developed the complete brand ecosystem, including guidelines, assets, illustrations, packaging, and the website look and feel.
The result is a cohesive, high-impact brand designed for Gen Z athletes and built to scale across products, platforms, and markets.

Highly recommend Outlier for branding services. We worked with Outlier Digital to complete a brand guideline and packaging for our sports jewelry brand.
Everything came out perfect.
